On Tuesday, May 17, hundreds of partners, participants, and interested guests visited The Spot: Young Adult Opportunity Campus in downtown Louisville to get a glimpse into the workshops and resources the program is offering 16-24 year olds in the Louisville region.
Visitors to the open house were able to experience a variety of The Spot’s offerings, including interactive workshops on soft skills, healthy relationships, career readiness, and much more. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer also dropped by in the afternoon to tour the space and offer some words of encouragement to participants and staff at The Spot. Reporters from WDRB and WLKY were on hand to capture footage of the event.
The Spot is a new partnership between KentuckianaWorks and Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, Inc. that is focused on helping young adults overcome barriers and get the support they need to reach their career and life goals. Participants have access to 1-on-1 career coaching, paid internships opportunities, GED preparation, as well as assistance with homelessness, mental/behavioral health, the justice system, transportation, and much more.
